Lubrizol Highlights its Unique Position in Transportation and Mobility at PIAE 2019

News Release

CLEVELAND, May 14, 2019 – The Lubrizol Corporation's high-performing specialty chemicals for automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers were showcased at Lubrizol's booth at this year's Plastics in Automotive Engineering (PIAE) International Conference in Mannheim, Germany. The show took place in April and has been one of the largest industry meetings for plastic users in the automotive industry for over four decades, with approximately 1,500 visitors per year.

Lubrizol shared with the delegates a full portfolio from the powertrain to the interior cabin and exterior. This portfolio also included transportation-related additives and durable, high-performing materials for improved aesthetics and comfort in interior seating, dashboards and door panels.

The show featured Lubrizol Engineered Polymers solutions for exterior surface protection, and durable Pearlbond™ and Estane® materials for adhesives and color-stable, non-staining interior parts, respectively. The highlight and topics that drew most of the attention were novel, lightweight and sustainable solutions like bio-based** products (Pearlthane™ and Pearlbond™ ECO portfolios), low VOC/FOG materials and specialty foam technologies.

Simon Evans, regional business manager OEM group EMEAI, commented, "Lubrizol's wide range of high-value solutions for OEMs and the versatility of Lubrizol Engineered Polymers' specialties impressed the visitors of our booth. Lubrizol's capabilities across the complete transportation area are indeed unique so we were able to demonstrate the balance of automotive-focused, differentiated technology in our booth.

"Lubrizol's unique position in the transportation and mobility area coupled with our innovation in many areas was clearly of major interest," added Santosh Mishra, marketing manager for Lubrizol Engineered Polymers, EMEAI. Mishra continued, "Our technical experts are very market-focused and our broad portfolio of specialties has expanded with polymers for new applications like charging cables (electric vehicles) and for improved aesthetics (high scratch-resistant materials) and comfort in premium interiors (e.g. TPU in synthetic leather). We are also working to meet demands of future trends like driverless cars that require anti-microbial and high-gloss solutions that are recyclable."
