| Lubrizol To Present Key Technical Papers at European Coatings Congress |
CLEVELAND, February 12, 2013 – The Lubrizol Corporation will present two technical papers at the European Coatings Congress March 18-19, in Nuremburg, Germany. The announcement was made today by Dr. Peter Bloyce, global business manager, Lubrizol Performance Coatings. The Congress is associated with the European Coatings Show taking place March 19-21. The events, regarded as two of the most important gatherings in the coatings world, will be held at Nuremburg’s Exhibition Centre. Lubrizol will also participate in the show and display a range of products in Hall 1, Stand 554. The Congress gives the international coatings community the opportunity to learn about recent industrial developments in applications for coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants and construction chemicals. Larry Schnieders, global applications lead for Lubrizol Performance Coatings, will offer a paper titled “Measuring the Corrosion Resistance of Waterborne Coatings with Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy: A Case Study.” He will make his presentation on March 18, at 4:30 p.m. during the Congress’s Session 8: Measuring and Testing. Dr. Alex Lubnin, Technical Fellow for Lubrizol Performance Coatings, will discuss hydrolytically-stable polyester-polyurethane nanocomposites on March 19, at 4:00 p.m. during the Congress’s Session 22: Nanotechnology. Schnieders has global responsibilities for product development for the industrial metal finishes and adhesives markets. He is also responsible for North American technical service. He joined Lubrizol in 2005 after spending 20 years in product development for the pressure-sensitive adhesive industry. He holds five patents and is a certified Six Sigma black belt. Dr. Lubnin graduated from the University of St. Petersburg, Russia and worked at the Lebedev Central Synthetic Rubber Research Institute. In 1990 he became a visiting scientist at the University of Akron, Ohio.
