Lubrizol and Bjorn Thorsen to Showcase TPU Solutions at Muovi Plastics Fair

CLEVELAND, March 15, 2017 - The Lubrizol Corporations' Engineered Polymers business will be highlighting its latest thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) solutions at Muovi & Pakkaus, Plastics & Packaging fair from April 20-21, held at the Lahti fair center in Finland. Leading Danish raw material distributor, Bjorn Thorsen A/S, based in Copenhagen, represents Lubrizol in the Nordic region and will showcase the broad range of TPU specialties at its booth no. E9a.

At Muovi Plastics, the following innovative TPU solutions will be highlighted:

  • Lubrizol's aliphatic offering ranging from 70 Shore A to 65 Shore D: expanded portfolio in order to provide materials with a broad hardness for designers or engineers who are on the lookout for improved aesthetics without sacrificing long-term performance in colour-stable parts. Pearlthane(TM) D91T80 and Pearlthane D91T86 TPU protect your light-coloured and transparent applications from damaging UV rays.
  • Estane® TPU for heavy-duty and food approved contact hose & tube: a wide-range of highly versatile and easy-to-process solutions which provide superior hydrolysis, tear/puncture resistance, and low temperature flexibility, including UV-resistant TPU with water tightness.
  • Innovative soft, plasticizer-free Pearlbond(TM) 300 series for hot melt adhesives: to match the pace of the increasing sophistication of textiles by improving processability, shape retention, soft touch, and flexibility in body movement, while providing excellent bonding.

Jesus Santamaria, EMEAI engineered polymers business director, notes, "We're expanding our offering of high-performing, specialty materials that offer processors and designers significant added value. The Nordic drive for innovation and uptrend environment provides the perfect showroom, and our distributor Bjorn Thorsen is the ideal partner to present our wider portfolio of aliphatic and other innovative TPUs that allow for durable, aesthetic products with new design and processing possibilities."
